What is a Catalytic Converter and Why do you need it?

Catalysts, which are chemicals that hasten chemical reactions while remaining unaltered, are found in catalytic converters. The dangerous exhaust fumes produced by the engine are split into the atoms that make up the molecules by catalysts. A typical three-way Catalytic Converter has two different catalysts: one that oxidizes carbon monoxide into carbon dioxide by adding oxygen, and another that reduces nitrogen oxide by withdrawing oxygen.
